Gdańsk – the city with long history is situated by the Baltic Sea. It is also king’s city, yore it used to be one of most populous and wealthiest in Republic of Poland. Gdańsk is a sea capitol of Poland, big economy centre, scientific and cultural centre and famous touristic centre. From this city many well-known public people comes from. Very important for the city is its the biggest in Poland and southern Baltic Sea still being developed sea port. Gdańsk has its own modern international airport and terminal that operates passenger/car ferry between Gdańsk and Nynashamn (Sweden).

Gdańsk, the amber capitol…
Considerable role in the town that matters a lot is specific branch of processing amber. Gdańsk cultivates multidimensional traditions in this sphere and for this reason it gain name of world’s amber capitol. The very first amber collections were born already in second half of XVII century.
Local amber workers created its own school of processing amber and their products of artistic craftsmanship are the best in the world. Baltic amber which is also called succinite is coming from 40 million years old hardened copal resin that contains much dash of amber acid, which decides about its extraordinary healing attribute. Gdańsk is the host of the biggest in the whole world amber exhibitions AMBERIF and AMBERMART. It is worth to visit show pavilions during every year’s big amber event.
